With a new season often comes the desire for change. You’re feeling fresher, the weather is brighter, and you’re on the hunt for a fun change to pep up your look. This summer there are a handful of celebrity hair trends that are user-friendly enough to try. Choose one from the list below for a mini summer makeover.
Ombre hair is huge this summer. Letting your over-bleached highlights grow out will likely take longer than the few summer months you’ll have to rock this trend. Instead, ask your hair dresser for an ombre look by matching your natural hair color and painting it through the top third to half of your hair. Keep your ends light and piecey. The fade from darker to light should be natural – no solid line should be seen by the naked eye! Take your cue from Rachel Bilson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, and Lauren Conrad.
The “it” hair color of the season has to be pink. Celebs are streaking, dying and accenting with this pretty color and you can too! Instead of taking the plunge and dying your whole head a pretty shade of pink, stick to dying your tips with a semi-permanent color a la Lauren Conrad.

The Long Bob
Feeling weighed down? Major split ends? The long bob might be for you. Steer clear of old-fashioned blunt bobs that end at unflattering lengths. Instead angle your bob slightly forward so that you have some longer pieces in the front for a modern take. If you bring your hair stylist a picture of Ashley Olsen or Gwyneth Paltrow, she’ll know what you want!
One of the simplest yet most dramatic changes you can make to your hair style is getting bangs. While they’re not for everyone, they can look super posh, modern, and chic. Keep bangs long so that you have the option of swooping them to the side or parting them in the middle like Nicole Richie often does. Feeling like a more polished look? Thick, blunt bangs will give you that fresh look.

Almost synonymous with summer, beachy waves can do no wrong this season. Invest in a good surf/sea salt spray like Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray to get the look. You can pick up the cult favorite at Sephora. Just spray it in damp hair, scrunch, and go for a Kate Hudson casual style! For a little extra help, use a curling iron on random pieces curling both forward and backward for a mixed up, natural look.
